The Day of Useless Knowledge

September 1, 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

This year, on the First Day of School, you can come to New Holland to forget for a while about mathematics, physics, geography and other important sciences. Instead, P.T.H. Creative Manufacture offers The Day of Useless Knowledge, a celebration for teacher’s pets and reluctant students alike. Here you will have the chance to pick up some genuinely useless skills and learn a lot of perfectly useless, but nevertheless entertaining, information. For instance, how to survive in closed Space, how to direct a free fall, and how to make a self-guided compass, among others. But you can’t have September 1 without any teachers; at the end of the day, the holiday’s main hero, Headless Professor, will officiate over a most unusual quiz, the winner of which will be awarded an especially useless prize. Throughout the day, the island will host a number of different themed research stations, where guests can indulge in all manner of creative and entertaining learning activities and workshops.
