Anton is Right here Charity Festival

September 3, 12:00 pm –10:00 pm

This year, the annual charity festival for the Anton’s Right Here Center will take place on New Holland.

Through the festival’s full program of events and activities, visitors to the island will learn more about the Center’s activities and how its students – people with autism spectrum disorders – see and understand their worlds.

Participants in the charity quest will have a chance to uncover the meaning behind the names of the stations, which are drawn from quotes from the students: “I’m off to reach for the heights!”, “You’re like a painting from the Hermitage. Beautiful, but hung by itself.”, and “I want to speak with you on a global level.” By fulfilling the various tasks of this quest, participants will get a sense of what it feels like to live with autism. The grand prize for the winner is a selection of crafts from the studios and a guided tour of the Center.

The studios themselves will also be represented on the island. Among the offerings at the festival are workshops on making wooden charms, decorating papier-mâché, figurines, making napkins by printing on fabric, or creating linocut postcards.

The festival will also have a lot of interesting things for children. Curator Tatyana Ryabkhina has prepared an extensive educational program of lectures and creative workshops.

The creator and host of the television show, Laboratorium, from the television channel Carousel, Anton Zakharov will present the science show, Digestion with Your Own Hands.

At the Scientific Inquiry stand, presented by the University for Children, each child can get answers to their questions from real scientists.

P.T.H. Creative Manufacture will create an installation that children can add on to and decorate, using their own elements.

In the game library, GaGaGames will serve up a selection of table games, as well as a series of tournaments.

The Moscow-based company Playtronica use vegetables to make sound. They will teach visitors how to play the pumpkin-percussions, the cucumber keyboard or just solo jam on the eggplant.

What’s more, there will be lectures from Arzamas, and screenings in the silent theatre, where guests can enjoy a selection of animated shorts and Boris Barnet’s 1927 comedy, The Girl with the Hatbox, courtesy of Utopia Pictures and the magazine Séance.

For the entire day, the island will be filled with music. The first half of the day will see DJ-sets by Sincere Music’s Denis Riabov and Sergey Kamensky, while the evening line-up boasts performances by Sirotkin, Strannye Igry, Optimystica Orchestra and the Anton’s Right Here Orchestra. The MC for the program will be Alexander Malich.

Entrance to the festival – including participation in all activities – is free of charge.

All participants in the festival program have volunteered their time, so that all donations from visitors will go directly to support the Center.
