As part of the Garage museum’s Mosaic Music programme, Charlotte Gainsbourg will be performing in Russia for the very first time. The daughter of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin, the actress and singer first announced herself to the world 35 years ago on a song and video by her father, since which time she been practically a permanent presence on the screen, in the charts, and in the media. Gainsbourg is renowned not only for her work in film (she won the Best Actress award at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival for her role in Lars von Trier’s film Antichrist), but also for her prolific musical career. As befits a diva, Gainsbourg never performs along — she has worked with the group Air, Beck, Jarvis Cocker and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. In 2017, her album Rest was recognised by Pitchfork, The Guardian, The Independent and many other publications as one of the year’s best records, and it is this programme that she is bringing to St Petersburg.

Mosaic Music is part of Garage Live — a special program of events that reflect on the Museum’s building and its architecture. The program features concerts, artist interventions, performances, and lectures.

Tickets are priced 2500 roubles at the New Holland Infocenter and online (service fee applies).
