As part of the Garage museum’s Mosaic Music programme, saxophonist Kamasi Washington will be performing with his group in Russia for the very first time. Washington has managed to bring jazz that was for many years hidden away out onto centre-stage. His album The Epic — a dizzying 174-minute journey through the cosmos of Afro-American music, from gospel to funk — reached No.3 on the authoritative Billboard chart, went platinum in Germany, garnered numerous best album awards (including the influential American Music Prize for best debut album), and has earned its creator the status of herald of a new epoch of jazz.

Mosaic Music is part of Garage Live—a special program of events that reflect on the Museum’s building and its architecture. The program features concerts, artist interventions, performances, and lectures.

Tickets are priced at 3000 roubles, and are on sale at the New Holland Infocenter or online (service fee applies).
