Meeting with comic book artist Craig Thompson

New Holland Island’s Pavilion will host a meeting with american author and comic book artist Craig Thompson.

Craig Thompson is an American author and comic book artist, a four-time winner of the Harvey Awards, a three-time winner of the Eisner Awards, and a two-time winner of the Ignatz Awards. Born in 1975 in Traverse City, Michigan, he spent his childhood and youth in rural Wisconsin. Craig’s first encounter with comics happened through Sunday newspapers that published humorous comic strips, but he truly fell in love with story drawing in college, when he started creating comics for a student newspaper.

Craig began working on his main graphic novel, Blankets, in late 1999, while working as an artist and a designer for different companies. The novel was published in 2004 and has received every prestigious American comics award. Two of Craig Thompson’s books were published in Russian language: Blankets (Boomkniga Press) and Space Dumplins (MIF Publishing House).

The meeting will be held in English with consecutive translation. Free admission, places are limited, please register in advance (link in Russian).
