LUZHAIKA

In conjunction with the New Holland Island, the Association of Institutions of Contemporary Art will open on 29 June at 16:00 a large-scale public art project entitled LUZHAIKA. The island will house the work of eight contemporary Russian artists, created especially for New Holland: Anatoly Belkin, Ilya Gaponov, Pavel Ivanov, Ivan Pliush, Timofei Radi, Andrei Rudyev, Vladimir Seleznev, Sasha Frolova. Each works are in dialogue both with the island and with each other. The interaction of art and ecology, art and social space, as well as art for art's sake are the main topics addressed by the artists.


AIAI is the name under which 13 galleries and institutions located in St. Petersburg reunited as an association, which comprises: AL Gallery, Anna Nova Art Gallery, ART re.FLEX Gallery, Cyland Media Art Lab, Dmitriy Semenov Gallery, Frants Gallery Space, Lazarev Gallery, Marina Gisich Gallery, Modernariat, Namegallery, Rizzordi Art Foundation , Studio Kitchen, Creative Union PARAZIT. AIAI has been created in order to foster and develop an interest in contemporary art in the city.


Part of the art facilities will be presented on the island by the end of the season of the Summer in New Holland.
