Moving Poetry Evening Performance

August 16

19:00-21:00

The project Moving Poetry, combining poetry and performance art, will take place on August 16 in New Holland.

The program consists of eight performances: seven of them will be dances on Russian poetry by famous authors, including Nina Savushkina, Olga Khokhlova, Galina Ilyuhina, Dmitry Grigoriev, and many others. The eighth performance will be a premiere: a danced performance on the poetry of the Tajik poet Em Ali Mirzoeva, written in Farsi.

Moving Poetry’s uniqueness lies in the auctorial method of working with members of the project: the dancers translate poetry into the language of dance, often engaging with the poets in their staged action, and the professionalism of the direction, while preserving the participants’ creative freedom, permits to provide the performances with integrity and entertaining values.

Moving Poetry is a joint project of DANCEGURU and the Festival St. Petersburg Bridges

Admission is free.
