Practical workshops will be held in the New Holland Island Pavilion on October 16 and October 23 with the support of Kino.Platforma Potential, where students can learn how to pitch their ideas and how to get an international film grant.
Founder of Grant Buro project Maria Ivanova will share her experience of working with international foundations, film companies and private investors, address the issue of financing independent and debut films and talk about why European and American filmmakers are more successful in obtaining grants than their Russian colleagues. The talk will give an overview of Grant Buro operations, grants selection principles, and offer some practical recommendations on how to improve the chances of receiving international financial support.
Maria Ivanova is a producer, director, journalist, founder of the Grant Buro project and the Buta Films company.
Co-hostin: Maria Kobzareva, the executive producer of Grant Buro project, curator of exhibitions and educational projects in London, coordinator of several international biennales and art shows.
Grant Buro is the first project in Russia that provides support in obtaining international film grants.

The events will be held as part of the New Holland Island International Film Debut Festival Education Programme. The aim of the programme is to introduce the key European filmmakers and their creative methods as well as films by up and coming cinematographers and most current trends in contemporary cinema.
The New Holland Island International Debut Film Festival is a platform for daring cinema, whose aim is to open new horizons and challenge the established formats of filmmaking. The festival is part of the New Holland Island: Cultural Urbanization project and will take place in St.Petersburg.
