Ane Brun Live

August 23 promises a performance from Norwegian singer-songwriter Ane Brun. Based in Stockholm, Brun has released seven highly-acclaimed albums and toured the globe several times, even recording a duet with Peter Gabriel. She began her career with an acoustic guitar, writing songs under the influence of Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush. She found international fame with her third album, Changing of the Seasons, which was produced by Icelandic icon, Valgeir Sigurðsson, famous for his work with Bjork, Sigur Rós and CocoRosie. For her most recent album, When I’m Free, released in 2015, Ane Brun bolstered her melodies with an elegantly-arranged, theatrically-performed electronic dance bear. On August 22, Ane Brun will perform at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art.

Concerts take place as part of Mosaic Music, a series of musical events co-organized with the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. The program brings together both Russian and international artists and musicians, whose works draw on the development of music in the second half of the 20th century, while using sound to form an understanding of what it means to be contemporary.
