On November 18, 2017, New Holland Island will celebrate the return of its ice rink. As with last year, this rink will stretch over 2,000 m2, covering the entire lawn area in front of the Main Stage.
The ice rink will operate on the basis of one-hour sessions. After each session, there will be a brief pause to ensure that the frozen surface is always clean and perfectly smooth. The rink can host up to 300 skaters at any given time and will be open seven days a week until March 18, 2018.
This year, New Holland’s ice rink will host special “Silent Disco” night-skating sessions, every Friday and Saturday from 11:00 pm until midnight. During this time, skaters will be able to listen to DJ-sets, broadcast through wireless headphones, without having to worry about breaking any noise laws. Tickets for the Silent Disco sessions will be sold according to the usual evening rates.
To help celebrate the opening of the ice rink, on November 18, from 11:00 am until 3:30 pm, entrance tickets will be sold at a special rate of 100 rubles. From 5:00 pm until 11:00pm, ice skaters can enjoy sets from Petersburg DJs Holkin, Kimbar, Cable Toy and Kirill Ivanov, from the band Samoe Bol’shoe Prostoe Chislo. Throughout the entire day, visitors to the ice rink will be treated to New Holland’s signature ice cream, either in waffle cones or Eskimo-style.
